Bio: Adi Godrej displayed all the elements of a staunch businessperson even from a very early age. The family acknowledged this inherent talent and enrolled him in the MIT. Adi left India with the intention of doing Mechanical Engineering in MIT. However, the tables turned and he decided to stick with business administration. Likewise, he specialized in the same and returned to India. Upon his arrival, to his utter dismay, the gross annual profits of the company were not staggering.

He knew that he would have to revamp the entire working methodology followed by the employees. However, Adi took his time. Within years, he could renovate the profits to acceptable levels. Nevertheless, that was just the beginning. Mr. Godrej preferred an international image for his corporation. With the same intention, he began to concentrate more on the export / import activities of his company. The strategies employed by him began to display their charm. Within 10 years of Adi taking over the company, he could achieve a complete re-organization process. In order to improve the performance of the companies, he decided to break up the corporation into smaller self-sustainable entities.

That strategy also worked. Each company had their own CEOs. However, all the CEOs had to report directly to Adi. A healthy competition ensued between these companies. Adi also ensured that the employees could work in comfortable environments. Satisfaction of these assets began to reveal in the succeeding years. Adi Godrej is also known for his acts of Philanthropy. He actively donates to the World Wildlife Fund (India). In order to show his support for the employees, he commissioned a 150-acre residential/commercial complex in Vikhroli, Mumbai. The employees could enjoy subsidized education and other health benefits in this region.
