Bajaj Autos primarily concentrated in the design and development of scooters and three wheelers. When the rival company Hero Honda began to manufacture motorcycles, the sales of scooters fell. The future of Bajaj Autos remained grim. The timing was perfect for Rajiv too. He was back in home after spending the preceding years training for the future. Unfortunately, Rajiv was placed as an officer who monitored the designing and lean-production of motorcycle engines.

Rajiv began to concentrate on innovativeness - he was competing with a company that sought the expertise of World's Number One motorcycle company - Honda. Fortunately, he seemed to have a good notion about the overall liking of the Indian masses. He played an instrumental role in the development of the Bajaj Pulsar series. Rajiv Bajaj undertook great pains to streamline the production and after sales of Bajaj motorcycles. The company sales began to rise just like the earlier decades!

In recognition to his achievements, Mr. Rajiv was granted innumerable awards. He was venerated as the youngest Indian CEO on countless occasions. Business schools throughout India have depicted his business maneuvers and pragmatism to the students.
