Bio: The lack of an appropriate college education did not deter Mr. Chandra to scale the heights of success. During his earlier days as an entrepreneur, he dealt with the export and import of rice. By the 90s, he understood the need for a private television channel in India. As a direct consequence of the same, he secured the license to start India's first private TV channel - Zee TV.
Mr. Subhash used to assimilate a great of wealth through advertising paradigms in his channel. Later, he began to concentrate on introducing even more TV channels to the masses. This resulted in the formation of Sony Entertainment TV and Star Plus. Mr. Chandra knew the necessity of talking with the right set of people. However, this was just the beginning - his TV networks began to beam channels that specifically catered to the requirements of the Indian population. For instance, Zee News TV channel featured only the latest hot and happening events in English and Hindi.
The recent acquisition of the DNA newspaper was a strategic movement according to industry experts. In the meantime, digital TV in the form of DTH services (direct to home) was also introduced under the leadership of Mr. Subhash Chandra. He actively participated in the design and implementation of Essel world - one of India's largest theme parks during the 90s. Investing on diverse niches at the same time greatly aided him. Seeing the pathetic plight and the shoddy practices of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), he set up the Indian Cricket League.
While he was not amassing wealth, he concentrated on various kinds of social activities. He pioneered the Global Vipassana Foundation - an organization that stressed on the importance of meditation. He used to meditate by himself and according to him, it successfully aided in eliminating the stress factors largely.
